There are various reasons. It is certainly true that there are foamed roofs that are not really in order. Either here or unqualified processors work, the roof is still covered with conventional UV-protection and has not been serviced. This often happens when the object as changed hands and the new owners knew nothing of the necessary maintenance. Often, however, the owner saw the need to post-not because its roof was so close yet, despite a poor state of the UV-protective coating.
The main reason for the warning from the roofer is probably that they usually lose a repair customers! A foamed elastomer as a roof with UV protection is largely maintenance-free! Even an old foam roof can be repaired in most cases with a post-coating elastomer. Incidentally, the most common reasons why a building owner decides for a roof restoration with polyurethane elastomer in-situ and the unbeatable price and irritation with the constant repairs conventional roofing!
